Foundation Models Series

The Foundation Models video series is officially underway, and the momentum is building! The first video laid the groundwork, showing just how simple it is to make requests to Apple’s on-device large language model, while also covering error handling and device compatibility checks.

In the second video, things really start to take off. Building on what we created in Part 1, we explore interactive prompt building, live streaming responses, and visual feedback in SwiftUI. It’s a deeper dive into what’s possible with Apple’s Foundation Models framework and we’re only just getting started.

There are still three more videos to come in this series and each one builds on the previous one so make sure you follow along in order so that you will be able to get the most out of the series.

I also want to recommend AI Mastery in SwiftUI by Mark Moeykens. Mark is an incredible educator, and his new book is a must-read if you want to learn more about Foundation Models and how to use them in your SwiftUI apps.

My Foundation Models video series pairs perfectly with his book, giving you both the practical examples and the deeper insights you need to get started.

If you use my affiliate link, I’ll receive a small benefit, and right now the book is available for only $34.

Smile4Me SwiftUI Course Update

It is with regret that I will be taking down my Smile4Me SwiftUI course on November 24. This course was originally hosted on Teachable as a paid offering. Unfortunately, Teachable has increased its pricing to a level that makes it no longer feasible for me to continue hosting the course there.

Prices have risen so much that, to maintain the course, I would need to create additional new courses and charge higher prices. That goes against my mission to provide affordable education for Swift and SwiftUI developers. Instead, I will be focusing my efforts on my YouTube channel, where I will continue to share free tutorials and educational content.

All students have been informed of this change and will receive a link to download the complete course content so they can continue to access it as promised.

I am also exploring ways to make this course available to everyone in the future, so stay tuned for more information.

AttributedString Series Planned

I am almost finished editing the final two videos in the Foundation Models series. Once they are complete, my monthly Ko-Fi subscribers will get immediate access.

In the meantime, I am working on a new series of two or three videos focused on Attributed Strings. I have already built out the demo app and created a short promo video that you can watch.

More details will be coming in the next newsletter.
